Holiday Break

Hi everyone! Hope you all are enjoying your break. We just wanted to post an announcement that the university will be closed for the holidays from Monday, Dec.24 through Tuesday, Jan.1. We’ll be back and fully refreshed on Wednesday, Jan.2. Hope everyone has a happy (and safe) holiday!

Reminder About Core Courses

Remember to send in your registration request within the next few days. Online core MBA courses will become available to campus students starting December 18th and will most likely fill up by the end of that day. Email your registration to GMBA Advising and put “MBG Registration” in the subject line.

We’re now in Facebook

The eLearning team has created a group in Facebook called UTD SOM Online Students. This group is intended for UT Dallas students (past and present) who are or have taken online courses through the UTD School of Management online programs. We’re hoping you guys will use this group to network, socialize, post job postings, get to know each other, whatever! This is your space to take advantage of.

If you have a Facebook account, click on the link above. If you don’t have a Facebook account, follow the “Join Now” instructions to create your account, then join the group. As always, if you have any questions, let us know.

WebCT Upgrade/Outage

The following message was just added to the Announcements in WebCT; however, just in case any of you missed it, we’re re-posting it here:

WebCT Unavailable, 5pm 14 Dec through 16 Dec

The UTD eLearning Team is pleased to announce that an updated version of WebCT is ready to be released to the campus. This will be a minor update, from version CE 6.1.0 to CE 6.2.2, and will not be as disruptive as the change from CE 4.1 to CE 6.0. There are many benefits this will offer to the UTD community, including more than 2000 bug fixes, and several feature enhancements, listed at the link below.

Upgrade Schedule: The update will take place from 5:00 pm Friday, 14 December 2007 through Sunday, 16 December 2007. Please see the eLearning Team website for the list of enhancements and other details.

Waiting on the GMBA Advisor?

Greetings folks! I hope everything turned out great with your Fall ‘07 courses. I know a few of you have contacted Corina, our GMBA Advisor, and you might or might not have heard back from her just yet. (Some of you have actually contacted me checking on this, which is why I thought I’d post this.) I just wanted to let you know that the entire Advising office (in particular our GMBA Advisor) is incredibly busy right now handling walk-in students, phone-in students, as well as students who email in requests. Be assured that Corina is working on your requests as quickly as possible, and your issue(s) will be addressed. Thanks for your patience!
